How RocketGro is Made
What really sets RocketGro apart is the way it’s produced. The process begins on their Somerset farm, where crops such as rye, maize, and grass are grown specifically to support compost production.
These crops are put through anaerobic digestion, a natural process where microorganisms break them down to generate renewable energy. This energy helps power homes and local infrastructure, while the nutrient-rich by-product, known as digestate, forms the foundation of their compost.
This creates a circular, sustainable system: crops grow, generate energy, and return to the soil as rich, bio-active compost. With production powered by renewable energy, RocketGro is working towards a carbon net zero future, helping gardeners reduce their environmental footprint without sacrificing results.
Why Peat-Free Matters
Peat has long been used in compost, but its environmental impact is significant. By choosing peat-free alternatives like RocketGro, you’re helping to protect vital peatland habitats that store carbon and support wildlife.
RocketGro also avoids widely imported materials like coir, focusing instead on locally sourced, sustainable ingredients, reducing environmental impact without compromising on quality.
