Vegan Balti Bean Biryani
A flavourful and aromatic rice dish.

Ingredients
1 Jar of Aagrah Foods Balti Sauce
400g tin of kidney beans
400g tin of chickpeas
100ml vegetable oil
250g new potatoes, halved
350g rice
150ml coconut milk
100ml water
All ingredients are available to purchase in our Farm Shop
Method
- Heat the oil in a pan on a medium heat.
- Add the potatoes, place the lid on the pan, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the beans and chickpeas to the mixture, then pour in the Balti sauce. Add 70ml water, stir and allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Next, add the coconut milk and allow to simmer for further 2-3 minutes.
- Add the rice to the pan and gently stir. Measure 100ml of water and add to the rice. Allow the rice to simmer until the water has been absorbed.
- Chop your coriander, mint and chilli and add to the top of your rice.
- Wrap the lid with a cloth or a couple of layers of tin foil to help with steam cooking and place the lid on the pan.
- Cook on a low heat for approx. 15 mins, ensuring not to open the lid until the end!
- Serve and enjoy!
