Makhani Chickpea Curry

Mild vegetarian chickpea curry with a North Indian inspired sauce.

Makhani Chickpea Curry Recipe


1 jar of Sauce Shop Special Makhani Cook-In Sauce
1 tbsp cooking oil of your choice
1/2 thumb sized piece of ginger, peeled and chopped
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 chopped mild chillies (or to your taste)
2 cans of chickpeas
Handful of fresh coriander
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch of sea salt
Plain yoghurt, to serve
Rice, to serve

  1. Heat a well oiled wok or deep frying pan to a medium heat.
  2. Once hot, add the cooking oil, then add in your onion, ginger and garlic and cook for around 5 minutes.
  3. Add in your drained chickpeas and cook for a further 5 minutes. Add salt to your taste.
  4. Add in your jar of Special Makhani Cook-In Sauce and finish cooking until everything is well heated, around 3-4 minutes. Ensure the sauce doesn’t stick to the bottom by stirring regularly.
  5. Serve hot with rice, topping with mild chillies, yoghurt and fresh coriander.
